76 out of 86 villages in the Central region have become beneficiaries of transport service thanks to the Government’s relentless endeavors to expand social services.
Asmara, 13 September 2011 – 76 out of 86 villages in the Central region have become beneficiaries of transport service thanks to the Government’s relentless endeavors to expand social services.
Accordingly to an eight-years assessment conducted in the region, pervious travel has been upgraded from 640 covering 32, 219 Km. to 1,084 covering 42,657 Km. Currently, 21,229 beneficiaries travel to and fro daily, the report added.
The provision of such service is making due contribution in socio-economic activities of the general public. 1,736 villages have already obtained transport service and that about 45 thousand beneficiaries travel daily covering about 95 thousand kilometers every day at national level.
