More than 20 thousand from a total of 60 thousand inhabitants of Emni-Haili sub-zone, Southern region, are receiving education thanks to the enhanced awareness campaigns and initiatives taken on the part of the inhabitants, according to the administrator of the sub-zone Mr. Osman Arefa.
Emni-Haili, 15 September 2011 – More than 20 thousand from a total of 60 thousand inhabitants of Emni-Haili sub-zone, Southern region, are receiving education thanks to the enhanced awareness campaigns and initiatives taken on the part of the inhabitants, according to the administrator of the sub-zone Mr. Osman Arefa.
The Administrator added that the success is directly attributed to the increase of schools in the sub-zone from just 3 schools before independence to 37 including two secondary schools.
In regards to agricultural achievements, Mr. Osman explained that crops and cereals planted over 15 thousand hectares of land are in good condition, and that irrigation of about 340 hectares below 22 micro-dams and ponds is making due contribution in the increasing outputs and stabilizing local market demands.
Speaking of social services in the Emni-Haili sub-zone, Mr. Osman said that 22 villages have obtained potable water supply, in addition to the distribution of electricity to six villages. Moreover, the administrator added that telephone services are now covering 60% in the area.
