The national Halhale Agricultural Research Centre undertook study on more than 20 types of cereals, according to Mr. Tsegai Berhane, Director of improved seedlings unit at the center.
Halhale, 20 September 2011- The national Halhale Agricultural Research Centre undertook study on more than 20 types of cereals, according to Mr. Tsegai Berhane, Director of improved seedlings unit at the center.
The cereal grains researched upon include three types of sorghum, four types of wheat, three types of barley, maize with high protein content and ten types of beans. Reports indicated that the cereals would be distributed to farmers as of 2012.
Mr. Tsegai indicated that the cereals on which the Center carried out experiment are suitable to the country’s climatic conditions, besides sustaining weeding and have high productivity potential.
