Assab, 23 September 2011 –At a workshop conducted in Assab town, it was disclosed that the literacy campaign conducted in the Southern Red Sea region over the past 10 years has registered fruitful outcome.
Speaking at the opening session, the Head of the branch office of the Ministry of Education in the region, Mr. Abdalla Mohammed, pointed out that educational opportunities are being made available event in remote parts of the country, besides expanding literacy campaign.
According to the report presented by the head of Adult Education Program in the Ministry’s branch office, Mr. Kelil Osman, adult education which began in Assab and South Denkalia in five stations in 1995-1996, has now risen at present to 30 stations in all sub-zones of the region.
The participants of the workshop conducted extensive discussion and adopted a number of resolutions.
