As part of endeavors to reduce mortality rate of mothers and children, the hospital has a waiting center for pregnant mothers which came as a major relief to them especially those coming from remote areas. Nurse Girmai said that so far 418 mothers have undergone successful delivery in the center.

Ms. Kibra Girmai and Ms. Nebyait Gebrekidan respectively said that previously they use to face various problems in travelling from their respective villages to the hospital, but at present thanks to the waiting center they have managed to stay under treatment up to delivery.

Mr. Sirak further pointed out that parallel with raising the awareness of mothers in the region as regards health care, the number of mothers who deliver in hospital has raised from 60-80, and called  for assigning an Obstetrician in the hospital.
