He indicated that the education that used to be provided under tree sheds during the armed struggle has now been transformed into a modern building and has led to growth in the participation of students in education, in addition to registering satisfactory outcome. Furthermore, the boarding school in the region that enroll students from Asmat, Sele’a and Hal-Hal sub-zones is making due contribution in enhancing education in the region, he added.
Likewise, water projects implemented in a number of areas have ensured potable water supply to 70% of the inhabitants of the sub-zone, and that vigorous efforts are underway to enhance and develop such projects.
Mr. Abubeker explained that as regards health service Mr. Abubeker said that the health center in Asnada and the clinic in Orota are playing vital role in providing health care to mothers and children, in addition to protecting the inhabitants from diseases. He further noted that training has been given to barefoot doctors and village representatives the outcome of which is satisfactory.
The Administrator also pointed out that in realization of the benefit of village regrouping, the local inhabitants are settling around service-rendering institutions and called for the renovation the Keren-Sele’a road.
