Southern Red Sea region: Achievements being made in health activities

At a meeting conducted in Assab town, the branch office of the Ministry of Health in the Southern Red Sea region disclosed that it has registered encouraging accomplishment over the past couple of months.

Assab, 3 October 2011 – At a meeting conducted in Assab town, the branch office of the Ministry of Health in the Southern Red Sea region disclosed that it has registered encouraging accomplishment over the past couple of months.

According to reports presented at the meeting, achievements have been scored in combating communicable diseases as well as pre-and post-delivery care, among others in four sub-zones of the region.

The Administrator of the Southern Red Sea region, Mr. Ali Mahmud, explained that health personnel are providing commendable service, and expressed the readiness of the regional Administration to extend the necessary support.

The head of the Health Ministry’s branch office in the region,   Mr. Asefaw Gebremichael, said on his part that the branch office has carried out effective task in enhancing public awareness regarding health, environmental sanitation, communicable diseases and mother and child care.
