Prevailing peace and stability in Eritrea attractive for investment, Say participants of the Regional Geo-Congress
Participants of the Regional Geo-Congress in Asmara said that the policy of mining and mine resources in Eritrea, and above all the prevailing peace and stability in the country is attractive for investment.
Asmara, 5 October 2011 – Participants of the Regional Geo-Congress in Asmara said that the policy of mining and mine resources in Eritrea, and above all the prevailing peace and stability in the country is attractive for investment.
The participants told Erina that they were encouraged and able to invest their capital in Eritrea because Eritrea’s mining policy is quite clear. They further indicated that Eritrea with its mining resources will have a special place in the mining industry in the near future.
Mr. Douglas H. Pitcher, Director, Geo-tech Airborne Limited, noted that mining companies in Eritrea meet international standard and apply modern technology, coupled with the existing conducive atmosphere for mining. He added that they are making effective contribution in exploration activities.
The Managing Director of Sahar Mining Company, Mr. Alasdair Smith, said on his part that at a time in which the ‘Arab-Nubian Shield’ is drawing the attention of many investors, the existing clear policy and effective management in Eritrea has enabled the country to become the choice of investors.
Likewise, the Director of Lamacha Mining Company, Mr. Dan Hamer, indicated that mining prospects in Eritrea and the efforts being made by the Government to develop the sector are encouraging companies currently engaged in mining activities.
