Regional Geo-Congress in Asmara continues

The regional Geo-Congress ‘Arab-Nubian Shield’ that opened in Asmara yesterday in which 300 people are participating, continued today with deliberation on different study papers that were presented. Asmara, 5 October 2011 – The regional Geo-Congress ‘Arab-Nubian Shield’ that opened in Asmara yesterday in which 300 people are participating, continued today with deliberation on different study papers that were presented.

The study papers by Mining Companies, service-rendering institutions, and Geo-experts focused on the resources in the ‘Arab-Nubian Shield’ and mining activities, as well as future prospects.

The papers presented by service-rendering institutions indicate that modern mining technology is already in application in Eritrea in mining exploration and that promising exploration activities have been carried out over the past ten months.

The Mining Companies on their part explained that the mining policy of the Government of Eritrea is attractive for investors, and that different geo-resources in the country are expected to become sources of attraction for the mining industry.

On the part of geo-experts they presented study papers regarding mining prospects in the ‘Arab-Nubian Shield’ for the coming 25 years, potash resource in the region, the dividend which the countries could earn, the technology they should apply and protecting clean water from the effects of pollution.

The Congress in which Mining Companies from different countries, internationally recognized geo-experts, investors and service-rendering institutions are participating would continue until the 8th of October.
