Vigorous efforts are underway in Sel’a sub-zone, Anseba region, to change the nomadic pattern of life of the inhabitants into settled lifestyle, stated Mr. Wuala Mohammed, the Administrator of the sub-zone.
Sel’a, 7 October 2011 – Vigorous efforts are underway in Sel’a sub-zone, Anseba region, to change the nomadic pattern of life of the inhabitants into settled lifestyle, stated Mr. Wuala Mohammed, the Administrator of the sub-zone.
He said that seven schools have been constructed in the sub-zone, in addition to the digging of 15 wells in a bid to ensure potable water supply.
Pointing out that reserve areas have been designated in six places in the sub-zone in view of the fact that the inhabitants are pastoralists, the Administrator explained that the expansion of social service would continue in an extensive manner. He further indicated that the renovation of feeder roads including Amelait-Rkeb road getting connected with Gash-Barka road through public campaign has alleviated transport problem in the sub-zone.
Sel’a sub-zone, comprising of the administrative areas of Sherit, Girgir-Gersi, Badn, Dibasota, Gedaa, Merbebaib and Tahra, groups 24 villages with a total number of 15 thousand inhabitants.
