A total of 478 needy families headed by women in Shambuko sub-zone have been rehabilitated by livestock at a cost of about 3 million 700 thousand Nakfa, stated Mr. Shewit Fashale, head of Agriculture branch office in the sub-zone. Shambuko, 10 October 2011 – A total of 478 needy families headed by women in Shambuko sub-zone have been rehabilitated by livestock at a cost of about 3 million 700 thousand Nakfa, stated Mr. Shewit Fashale, head of Agriculture branch office in the sub-zone.
He said that the effort of the branch office to improve the living standard of nationals is bearing fruitful outcome. The beneficiaries on their part indicated that they have managed to upgrade their living standard thanks to the support extended.
Moreover, Mr. Shewit said that plowing tools have been contributed to over thousand needy families, in addition to distributing about 250 quintals of various seeds and over 900 quintals of modern fertilizer. He also indicated that soil and water conservation activities at an expenditure of more than one million Nakfa have been carried out, besides the provision of various training courses to farming communities.
