Experimental seeds in Tessenai- Aligider farming project register satisfactory outcome

Experimental seeds of Sesame, cotton and maize, among others, experimented upon Tessenai- Aligider farming project have registered satisfactory outcome, and will be distributed to farmers in the coming farming seasons, according to the head of the project, Mr. Yemane Gebretensaie.
Tessenai, 15 October 2011- Experimental seeds of Sesame, cotton and maize, among others, experimented upon Tessenai- Aligider farming project have registered satisfactory outcome, and will be distributed to farmers in the coming farming seasons, according to the head of the project, Mr. Yemane Gebretensaie.

Mr. Yemane also said that the necessary infrastructure has been put in place that will enable the project carry out tasks all the year round, called on the farmers to strive for the attainment of the set goals.

He also explained that the project encourages farmers to upgrade their farming methods into irrigation system, and stressed the economic benefits farmers could get from producing oily seeds, in addition to the advantage of enriching the soil.
Mr. Mulugeta Isack, plant expert, in the project, said on his part urged farmers in the region to focus more on producing oil seeds.
