Patriot Mohammed Omar Hakito passed away today at the age of 92 due to illness. He was born in Assab in 1919, and was among those Eritrean patriots who fought and led the struggle for self-determination in the 1940s.

Assab, 21 October 2011 – Patriot Mohammed Omar Hakito passed away today at the age of 92 due to illness. He was born in Assab in 1919, and was among those Eritrean patriots who fought and led the struggle for self-determination in the 1940s.

The funeral service for the late Patriot Mohammed Omar Hakito, would be held tomorrow in the morning hours at the Assab Patriots Cemetery.

The Government of Eritrea expressed deep condolence on his death and sent condolences to the bereaved family.
