In line with the endeavors made to prevent blindness in remote areas of the Northern Red Sea region, over 230 citizens who received eye surgery have been fully cured, according to Dr. Samuel Kebed, head of the eye surgery program.
Massawa, 24 October 2011 –In line with the endeavors made to prevent blindness in remote areas of the Northern Red Sea region, over 230 citizens who received eye surgery have been fully cured, according to Dr. Samuel Kebed, head of the eye surgery program.
He told Erina that the program was carried out in the sub-zones of Afabet, Nacfa, Adobha and Karora to relieve nationals who have been suffering from curable eye diseases. Moreover, Dr. Samuel said that the on-going medical service to remote areas of the country on the basis of internal capacity amply demonstrates the achievements registered in developing manpower resources.
Mr. Kifle Dirar, Assistant Nurse, on his part expressed satisfaction with the task thus accomplished as many citizens have now overcome blindness.
