Credit program plays vital role in improving living standard of needy citizens

At a workshop conducted from October 27 to 28 in the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare, the need for expanding credit program that is playing vital role in improving the living standard of disabled and needy citizens was given emphasis.
Asmara, 2 November 2011 – At a workshop conducted from October 27 to 28 in the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare, the need for expanding credit program that is playing vital role in improving the living standard of disabled and needy citizens was given emphasis.

The Minister of Labor and Human Welfare, Ms. Salma Hassen, stressed the significance of expanding the program of assisting needy nationals to become self-supporting. She also called on the participants of the workshop to assess the task accomplished so far and put forth constructive ideas that would reinforce the program.

Various papers were presented at the workshop in which extensive discussion was conducted. The beneficiaries of the program include disabled citizens, families of fallen heroes, foster families and families headed by females as well as needy youths. 

The participants of the workshop adopted a number of recommendations, including the raising of the amount of credit provided and the need to outreach other nationals.
