Extensive program to prevent blindness, especially trachoma is underway in Adi-Quala, according to the head of Adi-Quala Hospital, Mr. Sirak Debas. Adi-Quala, 2 November 2011 – Extensive program to prevent blindness, especially trachoma is underway in Adi-Quala, according to the head of Adi-Quala Hospital, Mr. Sirak Debas.

He said that the program is part of the three-year national campaign at government expenditure, and that it would be conducted until the 16th of December in 22 Administrative areas.

Likewise, Ms. Alganesh Mengistu, one of the volunteers striving for the success of the program, said that the members of society at large are actively participating in the undertaking, and that lectures being offered regarding the use of drugs are bearing fruitful outcome.

The national campaign underway across the country includes eye surgery, drug distribution, extensive campaign and maintaining environmental sanitation.
