Vegetable gardens in Rahaita, Denkalia sub-zone, have registered satisfactory outcome, according to reports. Denkalia, 3 November 2011- Vegetable gardens in Rahaita, Denkalia sub-zone, have registered satisfactory outcome, according to reports.

The vegetable farming which was introduced in the area by the Sultan of Rahaita, Mr. Abdelkadir Dawoud, has now witnessed the cultivation of a number of vegetables, palm seed, lemon, guava and incense among others. Moreover, the practice is making due contribution in the livelihood of the inhabitants.

Mr. Abdelkadir Dawoud said that the fertile soil and good water reserve in the locality is suitable to farming and that the experiments he conducted as regards cultivation of vegetables and fruits has borne encouraging outcome. Many inhabitants of the region have also emulated his initiative, reports indicated.

Mr. Abdelkadir also commended the advice and technical assistance obtained from the Ministry of Agriculture.
