Minister calls the general public to enhance role and contribution in efforts to promote conservation rangelands

In the course of an inspection tour he conducted in Ginda sub-zone, Mr. Arefaine Berhe, Minister of Agriculture, called for strengthening the role of the public in the efforts to promote the development of rangelands.

Ginda, of November 2011 – In the course of an inspection tour he conducted in Ginda sub-zone, Mr. Arefaine Berhe, Minister of Agriculture, called for strengthening the role of the public in the efforts to promote the development of rangelands. 

He said that stepped-up popular participation is the paramount importance to this end, including that of village administrators.

Similarly, Ms. Tsigedreda Woldegirorgis, Administrator of the Northern Red Sea region, said that the inhabitants are making due contribution in conserving range lands, and reminded the remaining administrative areas to emulate the example of   work accomplishments in Mai-Habar Administrative area as regards the aforementioned task.

The Administrator of Ginda sub-zone, Ms. Amna Haji Osman, indicated on her part that a number of campaigns are underway towards raising the awareness of the public in this domain. She further explained that there exist about 13 rangelands in 15 administrative areas of the region.
