Efforts underway to upgrade capacity of the Blind

The Eritrean National Association of the Blind is making relentless efforts to upgrade the capacity of the Blind, in collaboration with partners.

Asmara, 7 November 2011 – The Eritrean National Association of the Blind is making relentless efforts to upgrade the capacity of the Blind, in collaboration with partners.

The Assistant to the chairman of the Association of Blind persons, Mr. Dawit Solomon, stated that it provides training courses and encourages blind nationals to take active part. Commendable task has been accomplished so far, he added.

Explaining that the Association is aimed at promoting the living standard of blind citizens, Mr. Dawit said that it also carries out campaigns to raise public awareness.

He further explained that the association is building a new office in Asmara at a cost of 2 million Nakfa.

The Eritrean National Association of the Blind was established in 1996 and has to-date over 3,000 members.
