Gash-Barka region: Punitive measures to be taken against individuals breaking transport rules

Punitive measures would be taken to those individuals charging extra payment and overloading passengers, practices which are against the rules of the Ministry of Transport and Communications in Gash-Barka region, stated Mr. Haile Abrha, head of the Ministry’s branch office.
Barentu, 7 November 2011 – Punitive measures would be taken to those individuals charging extra payment and overloading passengers, practices which are against the rules of the Ministry of Transport and Communications in Gash-Barka region, stated Mr. Haile Abrha, head of the Ministry’s branch office.

In a meeting he conducted with owners of vehicles and drivers engaged in transport service in the region, he pointed out that the improved tariff which has been introduced and other related steps help to render transport service. Mr. Haile called on them to provide fair service through abiding by the regulations of the Ministry.
