Agordat sub-zone: Vegetable farmers called upon to produce green animal feed

Vegetable farmers in Agordat sub-zone have been called upon for producing green animal feed, according to an animal breeding expert in the sub-zone, Mr. Osamn Mahmoud. He indicated that vigorous efforts are being exerted by the Agricultural Ministry’s branch office to promote health of the livestock, and thereby raise production.  He further explained that animal feed from other materials is not enough, and hence vegetable farmers need to produce green animal feed along with the select seeds provided by the Ministry.

There exist 4 animal breeding associations in the sub-zone that produce around significant amount of milk supply to the market in the area.
