Inhabitants of Berakh express satisfaction with distribution of smokeless oven

The inhabitants of Berakh administrative area, Mendefera sub-zone, said that the distribution of Adhanet smokeless oven is making due contribution in improving their living standard.

Mendefera, 9 November 2011 – The inhabitants of Berakh administrative area, Mendefera sub-zone, said that the distribution of Adhanet smokeless oven is making due contribution in improving their living standard.

Recalling that traditional oven used to cause serious health problems, they stressed the need to distribute Adhanet for widespread distribution of Adhanet oven.

The head of NUEW in the administrative area, Ms. Aster Tsehaye said that training regarding the proper handling of the smokeless oven and its advantage are given ahead of its distribution, and that it is bearing fruitful outcome.

Ms. Hiwet Gidey, expert in Home Economics in the Ministry of Agriculture’s branch office, explained that various programs are being implemented to upgrade women’s living standard. She further indicated that the distribution of 200 smokeless ovens to the inhabitants of Berikh administrative area is part of the program.

Reports indicated that about 4,200 families in 6 administrative areas in Mendefera sub-zone have become beneficiaries of smokeless ovens.
