Water project in Zene Administrative area inaugurated

A Water project implemented at a total cost of 2.7 million Nakfa in Zene Administrative area, Geleb sub-zone has been inaugurated. Keren, 10 November 2011- A Water project implemented at a total cost of 2.7 million Nakfa in Zene Administrative area, Geleb sub-zone has been inaugurated.

The project includes water reservoir with a capacity of holding 150 cubic meters water, distribution units, 2 km-long pipelines, and solar devices, stated Eng. Zeregabir Hidrai, head of the project.

He indicated that vigorous efforts are being exerted by the Anseba regional administration and partners in promoting potable water supply facilities, and reminded the inhabitants to make judiciously utilization of them.

The Administrator of Geleb sub-zone, Mr. Tekleberhane Mihretab, said on his part that the newly inaugurated project is part of the Government’s efforts to ensure the provision of social service in remote areas of the country.

Ms. Ferejet Garzan and Sheikh Arefa Osman, members of the local inhabitants, pointed out that previously they used to travelg for around two hours to fetch water that was not even up to standard..

Zene Administrative area is one of the 11 Administrative areas located in Geleb sub-zone inhabited by 2 thousand people.
