Awareness regarding mother and child health care continues to gain momentum in Agordat sub-zone, stated Mr. Mahdere Teklom, head of the health center in the town.

Agordat, 11 November 2011 – Awareness regarding mother and child health care continues to gain momentum in Agordat sub-zone, stated Mr. Mahdere Teklom, head of the health center in the town.

He said that the inhabitants of 15 administrative areas are receiving medical treatment in their locality, and as a result mother and child mortality rate has dropped significantly.

Mr. Mahdere further explained that the extensive health campaign particularly on mothers’ health is playing vital role in promoting societal awareness.

There exist a hospital, health center and four health stations in Agordat sub-zone.
