Tesenei, 14 November 2011 – The process of implementing water project in Tessenei town at a cost of 114 million Nakfa is registering progress, according to Mr. Osman Hassen, head of water supply distribution office in the sub-zone.
He said that the project which commenced by Segen Construction Company in 2008 includes distribution of water pipelines to about 1,250 residential houses and 150 institutions, as well as the construction of 60 water stations. So far, 870 houses and over 30 institutions have become beneficiaries of the project, and that the construction of water stations has been finalized, Mr. Osman added.
Stating that the source of water is Gash River, he further explained that members of the public are in a position of obtaining 24-hour water supply, and called on them to make judicious utilization of the facility.
Similarly Ms. Aster Andom, controller of water station, said that the project has opened job opportunity to 60 women.
