Parents called upon to enhance role in encouraging students to keenly pursue study

The head of the branch office of the Ministry of Education in Agordat sub-zone, Mr. Abdalla Omar, called on parents to enhance their role in encouraging students to pursue their study with enthusiasm.

Agordat, 14 November 2011 – The head of the branch office of the Ministry of Education in Agordat sub-zone, Mr. Abdalla Omar, called on parents to enhance their role in encouraging students to pursue their study with enthusiasm. He further reminded them to avail themselves of the educational opportunities at their disposal.

Mr. Kaleab Berhe, supervisor in the sub-zone, said on his part that the local inhabitants’ awareness regarding education is gaining momentum, and that the number of school participants is showing significant growth. He further stressed the need to step up efforts to raise the participation of female students in view of the fact that their number declines at secondary level due to family responsibility and marriage.
