Gash-Barka region: Need of enhancing public awareness regarding hides and skins value emphasized

Mr. Kibrom Teklemariam from the Ministry of Agriculture emphasized the need for enhancing public awareness regarding the value of hides and skins production in Gash-Barka region. Barentu, 16 November 2011 – Mr. Kibrom Teklemariam from the Ministry of Agriculture emphasized the need for enhancing public awareness regarding the value of hides and skins production in Gash-Barka region.

He said that 44% of the livestock in the country are found in the region, and that there is great possibility of high production of meat and hides. However, the supply of hides in the market remains minimal due to limited public awareness, he added.
