141 staff members graduate from Ministry of Information

A total of 141 staff members today graduated from the Ministry of Information upon completion of a year-long journalism training course and other news skills in five groups at certificate level.

Asmara, 18 November 2011 – A total of 141 staff members today graduated from the Ministry of Information upon completion of a year-long journalism training course and other news skills in five groups at certificate level.

The course, organized in collaboration with College lecturers, included training in economics, history, journalism, psychology and photography. The courses conducted in five groups comprising  digital audio editing, digital video editing, database and archives, digital photography and sound recording, as well as office appliances was given on the basis of internal capacity.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the director of human resource development branch in the Ministry, Mr. Sibhatu Kifle, congratulated the graduates, and said that the training was part of the Ministry’s program to upgrade manpower resources.

A representative of the trainees, Mr. Daniel Gebru, said on his part that the Ministry’s endeavors have created firm bridge for enabling nationals to have strong links with the Homeland through disseminating the necessary information.

The director generals of TV, Radio and External Service handed certificates to the graduates. It is to be recalled that the Information Ministry has been offering similar training courses to staff members both inside the country and abroad.
