Massawa sub-zone: Training given to needy women

The National Union of Eritrean Women branch in Massawa sub-zone provided various types of handcraft training to 20 needy women with the collaboration of partners.
Massawa, 19 November 2011- The National Union of Eritrean Women branch in Massawa sub-zone provided various types of handcraft training to 20 needy women with the collaboration of partners.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the head of social service unit in the branch office, Ms. Jim’a Raki, said that the main purpose of the training was to enable the participants improve their livelihood. The training that was limited to Afabet sub-zone is now expanded to the sub-zones of Ginda, Foro and Gela’lo, she explained.

Ms. Amna Mohammed and Ms. Yordanos Gebremichael, from the trainees expressed appreciation for the opportunity afforded and indicated that it would play vital role in improving their living standard.

The head of the NUEW branch office, Ms. Mesuda Ahmed said on her part that assisting needy women is the responsibility of all nationals, and urged citizens to back up such programs.
