Satisfactory harvest achieved through Sememo Agricultural Project

Sememo Agricultural Project in which drip-irrigation methods are applied has registered satisfactory outcome, resulting producing twice a year harvest, according to Mr. Tekleweini Woldegebriel, expert from the Agricultural Ministry’s branch office in the sub-zone.

He explained that the select seeds of maize cultivated on 45 hectares and vegetables on 20 hectare have achieved satisfactory outcome. There are also plans to cultivate beans on 45 hectares of land where harvest three times a year is expected.

Sememo agricultural project, Adi-Quala sub-zone, was launched in April 2010 when the cultivation of 80 hectares was allocated to 100 needy farmers.
