Tourism Minister visits displaced nationals due to earthquake and volcanic eruption

The Minister of Tourism, Ms. Askalu Merkerios visited displaced nationals due to earthquake and volcanic eruption and presently living in new places of settlement.

Assab, 22 November 2011- The Minister of Tourism, Ms. Askalu Merkerios visited displaced nationals due to earthquake and volcanic eruption and presently living in new places of settlement.

During her visit to Siraru, Afambo and Alalie, Ms. Askalu assured them that the Government would provide the necessary assistance so as to improve their livelihood.

Mr. Lielo Hamedu Mohammed, Mr. Hamedu Shekbara and Mr. Ahmed Ali Abdella, all three members of the local inhabitants expressed appreciation to the all-round assistance of the Government and the people, and pointed out that they are confident of such assistance towards tackling other constraints. 

It is to be recalled that the inhabitants of Siraru and Mindig Administrative areas were moved to safe sites through the assistance extended to them by the Government and the people in the wake of the earthquake and volcanic eruption last June.
