Eritrean Community in Khartoum holds 2nd Congress

The Eritrean community in Khartoum and its environs held its 2nd Congress.

Asmara, 23 November 2011 – The Eritrean community in Khartoum and its environs held its 2nd Congress.

In an opening speech, the Eritrean Ambassador to Sudan, Mr. Mohammeddseid Mantai, gave briefings regarding the contribution of nationals residing aboard towards strengthening development programs. He further explained that strengthening organizational capacity is vital for reinforcing the national rebuff.

Pointing out that Eritrean community in Sudan, as elsewhere, have been making due contribution to the nation-building process, the Ambassador also expressed conviction that they would redouble their efforts for the effective implementation of development programs in the Homeland.

The participants of the Congress adopted a number of resolutions, in addition to electing an Executive Body.

Reports indicated that representatives of Sudanese political parties and that of the Association of Eritrean-Sudanese Public Relations took part in the Congress.
