He explained that after conducting the necessary study, 8 hectares each would be allocated for 15 vegetable farmers. He further explained that the purpose of the program is to introduce vegetable farming in the sub-zone, and thereby improve the living standard of the inhabitants, besides creating job opportunities.
Furthermore, he reminded the farmers to apply judicious utilization of the land. Mr. Humud Ela also called for resort to bio-diversity methods and the planting of eucalyptus tree seedlings in the area.
Despite the availability vast land in the sub-zone, there has only been limited cultivation, and that the land allocation opportunity is open to nationals keen to be engaged in vegetable farming, reports indicated.
