Significance of public supervision in Agordat to ensure children’s right emphasized

In a meeting he conducted with people’s representatives in Agordat sub-zone, the head of the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare’s branch office in the sub-zone, Mr. Eyob Kidane, stressed the significance of public supervision in nurturing disciplined children and ensure their rights.

Agordat, 2 December 2011 – In a meeting he conducted with people’s representatives in Agordat sub-zone, the head of the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare’s branch office in the sub-zone, Mr. Eyob Kidane, stressed the significance of public supervision in nurturing disciplined children and ensure their rights.

He further emphasized the role of parents in inculcating societal values in children, and called on them to supervise the educational and health condition of their children.

Mr. Eyob said that Eritrea has singed Convention on the rights of Children in the early years of independence which attests to its commitment to the task of ensuring children’s rights.

Reports indicated that there exist committees that supervise the rights of children in the sub-zones of Agordat, Barnetu, Tessenei and Haikota.
