Development projects in Habero playing significant role in improving lifestyle

Development projects  implemented in Habero sub-zone are improving the living standard of nationals in the area, the Acting administrator, Mr. Hussein Mohamed Nur disclosed. Keren, 6 December 2011- Development projects  implemented in Habero sub-zone are improving the living standard of nationals in the area, the Acting administrator, Mr. Hussein Mohamed Nur disclosed.

He pointed out that nearly 23,000 cubic meters of embankments, over 157 kilometers of terraces and 12,000 cubic meters of catchments have been constructed in the area while over 110 km-long roads that were eroded through flodding have been renovated.

Noting that popular participation was commendable in the undertaking of the projects, the Administrator said that plans have been drawn up for the people to utilize waters of the dams for irrigation purposes.

Regarding service-rendering institutions in the sub-zone, Mr. Hussein said that a total of 27 schools ranging from kindergarten to High School levels are providing service,  while three health stations and water supply projects are rendering efficient services to seven districts.

Habero sub-zone which is located 60 kilometers North-west of Keren town, is inhabited by 37,000 people.
