Enhancing public supervision regarding preservation of land and water recourses emphasized

The need to enhance public supervision as regards preservation of land and water resources was emphasized at a meeting conducted in the sub-zones of Mogolo, Gogne, Golij and Forto-Sawa by the branch office of the Agricultural Ministry in collaboration with of the Ministry of Land Water and Environment in Gash-Barka region. Mogolo, 9 December 2011 –The need to enhance public supervision as regards preservation of land and water resources was emphasized at a meeting conducted in the sub-zones of Mogolo, Gogne, Golij and Forto-Sawa by the branch office of the Agricultural Ministry in collaboration with of the Ministry of Land Water and Environment in Gash-Barka region.

The Administrator of Mogolo sub-zone, Mr. Mohammed Hamed, indicated that commendable task have been accomplished in reforestation, soil and water conservation activities, as well as, the putting in place of water projects facilities  and the construction of dams, embankments and terraces.

The head of Ministry of Land, Water and Environment’s branch office, Mr. Bereket Kidane, on his part stressed the need to take punitive major for individuals engaged in reckless cutting of tree.
