Asmara, 11 December 2011- December eight, International Children’s Day was celebrated on the 10th of December at a national level under the theme, “Childhood is the age of invention”.
In the ceremony held at the Central Region meeting hall, the Minister of Labor and Human Welfare, Ms. Salma Hassen said that the society at large and parents in particular need to utilize the invention capacity of their children at their early age.
Representative of UNICEF in Eritrea, Dr. Hammed Bashir on his part referred the International Children’s Day as the day that reminds the rights of children and the opening of new door to enable them explore their own talents. He added that the record breaking paining prepared by 827 Eritrean children bears a big international message.
The participants of the event witnessed the 7.166 kilometers long painting prepared by the name, “Pollution free world”.
