Vigorous efforts underway in Kerkebet sub-zone to reinforce agricultural development

The Administrator of Anseba region, Mr. Girgis Girmai, said that vigorous efforts are underway to cultivate vast farmland in Kerkebet sub-zone for the benefit of the inhabitants. Kerkebet, 16 December 2011 – The Administrator of Anseba region, Mr. Girgis Girmai, said that vigorous efforts are underway to cultivate vast farmland in Kerkebet sub-zone for the benefit of the inhabitants.

He said that there is a plan to cultivate over 500 hectares of potential agricultural area in Laat-Aimam, Barbaro and Dirfa in the coming summer season through public campaign and deployment of machineries. The Administrator also indicated that a plan has been drawn up to create conducive ground for investors to cultivate the area along the bank of River Lokoi.

Mr. Girgis further stressed the need to exert more efforts towards preventing reckless cutting of trees, among others.
