Ministry extends substantial assistance in 2011 to needy nationals in Southern region

At an assessment meeting conducted in Mendefera town, the branch office of the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare in the Southern region disclosed that it has extended assistance to needy nationals amounting to over 22 million Nakfa in the year 2011.
Mendefera, 19 December 2011 ­– At an assessment meeting conducted in Mendefera town, the branch office of the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare in the Southern region disclosed that it has extended assistance to needy nationals amounting to over 22 million Nakfa in the year 2011.

In a report he presented at the meeting, the head of the branch office, Mr. Nati Ibrahim, said that about 95 million Nakfa was paid in benefit scheme to families of fallen heroes in 12 sub-zones, in addition to the  payment of more than 2 million Nakfa donated by nationals living inside the country and abroad. Moreover, over 2 million Nakfa was extended to disadvantaged students and orphans, and about 55 million Nakfa to disabled citizens.
