Integrated efforts being made in Anseba region to eradicate illiteracy

At an annual assessment meeting in Keren town, it was disclosed that integrated efforts  on the part of Administrations and partners is being made to eradicated illiteracy in the region. Keren, 22 December 2011-  At an annual assessment meeting in Keren town, it was disclosed that integrated efforts  on the part of Administrations and partners is being made to eradicated illiteracy in the region.

According to reports, citizens from about 467villages in Anseba region take part in  illiteracy eradication campaign, and that the program individuals participating in such campaigns is enabling them to improve their livelihood, besides raising their awareness as regards various issues.

Moreover, efforts made to provide educational services to over age children has registered satisfactory outcome, reports indicated.Mr. Bokretsion Habtemichael, head of Education Ministry’s branch office in the region, called for relentless efforts to achieve more gratifying result in line with the plan to reduce illiteracy in the region by 15% in the year 2015.
