Central Assembly of NUEW holds 11th regular meeting

The Central Assembly of the National Union of Eritrea Women (NUEW) held its 11th regular meeting at the Hamelmalo College of Agriculture from December 20 to 21.
Hamelmalo, 25 December 2011 – The Central Assembly of the National Union of Eritrea Women (NUEW) held its 11th regular meeting at the Hamelmalo College of Agriculture from December 20 to 21.

In speech she delivered at the meeting, the President of the NUEW, Ms. Luul Gebreab, reiterated Eritrean women’s readiness to reinforce the national development drive and stressed the need for concerted effort in bid to effectively implement the outlined development programs.

Ms. Luul further emphasized the importance of ensuring gender equality in all sectors, highlighting the achievements of the Union being registered in collaboration with other Ministries and administrative bodies, redoubling efforts to combat harmful traditional practices and ensuring women’s health and education.

The Dean of the Hamelmalo College of agriculture, Mr. Semere Amlesom, on his part gave briefing regarding the development of the college and its activities, as well as its future work programs.
