Extensive reforestation campaign underway in Massawa town

An extensive reforestation campaign is underway in Massawa town, according to Solomon Araia, in charge of supervision duty regarding trees in the town. Massawa, 2 January 2012 – An extensive reforestation campaign is underway in Massawa town, according to Solomon Araia, in charge of supervision duty regarding trees in the town.

Pointing out that the planted trees used to be confined in a certain area,  he indicated that various types of trees, flowers and grasses that can adapt the local  climatic conditions have been planted along  the Massawa-Emkulu area which are in good condition.

Mr. Solomon also explained that town residents and institutions are making due contribution towards the success of the campaign.  There are also plans to reward individuals who planted more trees, he added.
