Assab, 2 January 2012 – At an assessment meeting he conducted, the Administrator of the Southern Red Sea region, Mr. Ali Mahmoud, called on the inhabitants to reinforce development endeavors for more gratifying outcome.
A report presented at the meeting indicated that the number of schools in the region ranging from kindergarten to secondary level has risen to 70, and that water supply has been made available in a number of villages.
Moreover, health institutions have been expanded in many administrative areas of the region.
Likewise, a number of villages have become beneficiaries of service-rendering institutions following the regrouping of village settlements, and that displaced nationals due to volcanic eruption have been relocated to provisional settlements thanks to the support extended by all institutions.
It was further indicated that strenuous efforts were made to conserve soil and water as well as promote fishing activities.
The participants of the meeting conducted in-depth discussion and pledged to step up efforts towards successful implementation of the development programs charted.
