Nacfa, 2 January 2012 – Major development programs including infrastructure facilities in the process of implementation in Nacfa sub-zone, Northern Red Sea region, disclosed Mr. Desie Zemhret, Head of Administration and Finance in the sub-zone.
Mr. Desie stated that dirt roads in all administrative areas have been renovated and that 10,000 terraces have been constructed, in addition to the plantation of trees in Nacfa, Rora, Bakla and Abelo through joint effort of the community and Summer Work Programs.
Pointing out that one of the major programs of 2011 has been collecting the remains of fallen heroes and placing them in their rightful place, he noted that the activity was undertaken in cooperation with the inhabitants of the sub-zone and government institutions.
He also stated that Bank service would begin soon, and that the design of master plan is underway to expand the town of Nacfa, while 60 plots of land have been distributed to citizens who fulfilled their national duty. Moreover, a generator is ready to provide a 24-hour of electricity supply to Nacfa town.
Mr. Deise underscored that feasibility study is being concluded for building dams in Shaka and Tsabra so as to alleviate potable water supply problems in Upper Agra’e and Rora Habab, besides enriching underground water of Nacfa town. He further noted that the expansion of telecommunication services and the construction of Afabet-Nacfa road would begin early this year.
