Vegetables and fruits cultivation in Debay-Sima Administrative area, Southern Red Sea region, are in good condition, according to vegetable farmers in the area. Assab, 3 January 2012 – Vegetables and fruits cultivation in Debay-Sima Administrative area, Southern Red Sea region, are in good condition, according to vegetable farmers in the area.
One of the farmers, Mr. Tesfu Asmelash, said that farming activities in the area are in good condition and lauded the assistance he received from members of the Agriculture Ministry in the area and Administration of the sub-zone.
Mr. Tesfayohannes Tesfalidet and Mr. Ibrahim Mohammed Hamed, both employees in the gardens, said that efforts are being made to satisfy the market demand of the sub-zone and ensure food security.
During an inspection tour he conducted to the gardens, theAdministrator of the Southern Red Sea region, Mr. Ali Mahmoud assured that the Administration will assist the farmers, and pointed out that there are plans to expand such gardens in this year.
