Nationals inside the country and abroad celebrate Ge’ez Christmas

Ge’ez Christmas was today celebrated by nationals inside the country and abroad. Asmara, 7 January 2012- Ge’ez Christmas was today celebrated by nationals inside the country and abroad.

In the celebrations conducted in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with the Eritrea Ministry of Information, the Eritrean Community residing in Jeddah and its environs took active participation.

Speaking in the occasion, the Chairman of Eritrean community in Jeddah and its environs, Mr. Habte Woldegirogis, said that the Eritrean people celebrate religious holidays in harmony. He further indicated that the US instigated illegal and unjust sanctions resolution is designed to undermine Eritrea’s development drive, and that it would end up in utter failure through the staunch rebuff of the Eritrean people and their leadership.

The Chairman of the Coordinating Committee, Mr. Mohammed Idris Afendi, said that Eritrean nationals residing in Jeddah and its environs will continue to keep intact their cherished cultural values, as well as reinforce their participation in development endeavors.

Eritrean cultural troupes staged various performances, thus adding color to the celebrations, according a report from the Ministry of Information from Jeddah.
