Debarwa, 11 January 2012 –Members of the public at large have been called upon to enhance their role in ensuring pollution-free environment during a health lecture given in Debarwa town.
In the lecture given by health personnel in the Southern region to secondary school students, extensive briefings were given regarding the negative consequence of tobacco and alcohol. Furthermore the students were called upon to promote positive impact on the environment.
The head of drug service unit in the Health Ministry’s branch office in the region, Mr. Fireminatos Misgina, pointed out that tobacco and alcohol related diseases are mounting at global level, and reminded the society to avoid such habits.
The students equally stressed the importance of offering similar types of training and that they would actively participate in ensuring environmental sanitation, as well as in campaigns regarding tobacco and alcohol.
