The residents of Massawa called on the concerned bodies to renovate ancient buildings in the town as they have been damaged with the length of time.

Massawa, 16 January 2012 – The residents of Massawa called on the concerned bodies to renovate ancient buildings in the town as they have been damaged with the length of time.

 

They commended the restoration process in Shuk Arab and Eri-Tel office, and urged similar action to be taken to hundreds of years-old unique classic building in the port city.

Mr. Abdu Seid stressed the need of repairing tourist attraction sites with skilled manpower, and thereby bequeathing them to next generations.

The head of the Northern Red Sea region museum, Mr. Yohannes Gebreyesus, indicated that there is plan to renovate big ancient buildings and that sanitation campaign is underway in historical sites through the joint efforts of the town municipality and partners.
