Assab, 20 January 2012- At an annual work evaluation meeting, it was reported that different social services and works of infrastructure worth 13 million Nakfa were implemented in the port city of Assab last year.
In the meeting in which public representative took part, Mr. Berhane Eyasu, Administrator of the city of Assab, presented detailed report regarding distribution of social services, infrastructure activities and other programs through integrated efforts of the Government and the public in 2011, as well as their modus operandi and challenges encountered.
According to the report, encouraging activities were carried out to repair water pipe-lines from 14 water wells in order to alleviate water supply problem as well as renovation of roads and buildings. Mr. Berhane further reminded the public to practice judicious utilization of water, land pay taxes and that of water besides other services on time, get extensively engage in poultry farming and to use the arable land for vegetable cultivation so as to improve the people’s living standard.
The participants of the meeting, following extensive discussions on the report, reaffirmed that they would actively work for the development of the city.
