At an evaluation meeting conducted in the Massawa Ministry of Health branch, it was noted that the implementation of health ventures in the Northern Red Sea region were the result of integrated efforts on the part of the health professionals and the public. Massawa, 20 January 2012- At an evaluation meeting conducted in the Massawa Ministry of Health branch, it was noted that the implementation of health ventures in the Northern Red Sea region were the result of integrated efforts on the part of the health professionals and the public.
In the meeting it was evaluated that encouraging outcome was achieved on controlling communicable and non-communicable diseases and controlling the prevalence of malaria, as well as vaccination and other health-related activities.
Dr. Yohannes Tekeste, head of the MOI branch, in a speech he delivered at the meeting, called for the continuation of the integrated efforts of the Government and the public witnessed in 2011 for the successful implementation of programs charted for 2012.
Participants on their part pledged that they would reinforce their contribution to the efforts for ensuring the heath of citizens, and called for solution to alleviate shortage of health professionals, medical supplies and ambulance, and the immediate renovation of health institutions.
Ms. Amna Nurhusein, Minister of Health, underlined that the Ministry has plan for 2012 to augment human resources, medical supply, health materials and other facilities, in addition to building more heath facilities.
